Challenger ball signups set March 14
Challenger Baseball will hold a meeting and registration opportunity at Spooky’s Pizza Parlor, Monday, March 14, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Challenger Baseball is a program designed for mentally or physically challenged youth to enjoy the full benefits of playing a team sport.

Adult softball holding
NWCPRD’s Adult Co-Ed Softball League is accepting team registrations.
Registration will close Wednesday, May 16, or when the league is full.
The season lasts May 24-through-Aug. 11.
Games are scheduled to be played on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights, at 6 and 7:30 p.m.
Registration is $325 per team and forms are available at the Parks office, 414 Washington Street Suite 1D.

Wheatfield marathon on schedule
The annual Wheatfield 18k, half marathon run/walk is on schedule for 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 26.
The race begins at Petersburg School campus in The Dalles.
Race registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and runs until 9:55 a.m. with pre-registration before March 23 recommended to secure a spot.
Cost to participate is $20 with a shirt and $5 without. Cost is $10 on day of event, and $25 with a shirt.
Awards wil be given to the top-3 placers in each age division for both runs.

Umpires needed for 2011
The Mid-Columbia Umpires Association is extremely short on umpires for the upcoming season, and local sports enthusiasts are encourage to join to help out the local athletes.
The MCUA provides officials for eight local schools.
