Tom Taylor

Tom Taylor, 64, a resident of The Dalles, passed away Sunday, March 6 at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born September 1, 1946 to Lawrence Taylor (Roy) and Evelyn (Jones) Taylor. He was the third eldest of five siblings.
Tom was raised on the family farm in Olex, Ore. until he was 10 years old. Tom’s family moved to The Dalles in 1959, then to Medford, where he completed his education and played on the high school football team. Following high school he worked as a logger and a commercial fisherman. He became an accomplished musician (saxophone), following the example of his father, Roy Taylor. He played with a successful traveling band traveling west from Hawaii, and as far east as Wisconsin. He later worked as a painter and at the aluminum plant. He enjoyed listening and playing music and socializing with friends at the local coffee shops.
Tom was a devoted family man and doting father and was always there to help anyone in need.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years Connie (Bradley) Taylor of The Dalles, his children: daughters Angie Stansbury and son-in-law Tracy, Amie Buckles and son-in-law Brian, Amanda Taylor, and his son Tommy Taylor and Shayree Brookshire. He was blessed with five grandchildren, Ivorie Taylor, Sam and Maddie Stansbury and Hayden and Brody Taylor. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 19 at Life in Christ Center. Pastor J.W. Jenson officiating.
Remembrances may be made to Green Gables Guest House or Life in Christ Center.
